A sunny day in Portland Town

Mark and I took ourselves to Portland yesterday.
A lovely, sunny Sunday.
We saw many buildings.

We had brews. So darn good too!

LOL, some how this got in the middle.
Mark worked on the driveway before we left.
Back to Portland now....

We checked out the new bridge for MAX, buses, and such.

Dragon boats!

Lots and lots of dragon boats. We so need to go and watch the races this year during Rose Festival.

As we walked by we heard this film crew setting it up where this guy was going to get in the back of a vehicle and film two bikers as they rode through town. Better him than me.......

It was a great day in Portland!!!

Remembering Mom

Yesterday Mark and I volunteered in downtown Portland for an event to bring about awareness of preventing colon cancer.  Our job was to help set up.

Mark was way helpful. I mean he really was.
Here he's helping to set up a big ole colon.

See? Here it is all ready for folks to walk through it and learn.

Mark and I did this to honor Mom. I miss her every day.
And to note that Mark is alive due to cancer research. He had two pre-cancerous polyps and they were caught before they could do any damage. We are so grateful for that.

These gals were a riot. Two are colon cancer Survivors, and one is a doctor.
They were fun to work with, and fun to watch as they practiced their dance moves for the afternoon activities. Lots of dancing was going to be happening.

So funny. Just couldn't resist posting.

We took part in a short parade.
A HS band was in town from Montana and happened to be performing where we gathered.
The organizers asked if they would be interested in leading the parade and they were more than happy to do so. It made it even better!

I hope that the message yesterday got out and folks who should be checked get it done.
Love you Mom.

Loving some tulips!

Mark took today off today and we went to the Woodburn Tulip Festival.
Beautiful day for it!

This was amazing. The kids are hooked up to a spring, and they bounce on trampoline.
Looked like fun to me!
We've seen the real thing.
But still cute.

My sweet Dutch boy.

Never been much of a shoe horse,
but couldn't resist.......

April thoughts....

I can't believe it's already April. This year is flying by. Not in a bad way, thank goodness.

One of the joys of Spring is to work on happy Easter cards and have great views outside your window. Look how happy these cards are!

Look at how Lire spends her Spring mornings.
Yep.
Pretty much every morning is spent in this manner, after spending some quality time with me.

Sometimes I do get out into the sunshine and enjoy.
Tuesday I drove into Portland to meet my friend Suzette for coffee.

Lovely coffee.
Not only great to look at, but oh so good.
I love sitting in a small Portland coffee shop and having a cup of coffee in a 'real' cup.
And talking with friends like Suzette. It doesn't get much better than that.

I usually spend my mornings working on my computer skills
(after my quality time with Lire).

It makes it even better with the trees blooming.

And ever since Deacon passed I've noticed more squirrels running through the trees.
Quite a few come to think about it. In fact as I'm typing there's a little fellow (or gal, not sure)
jumping around the tree in this picture. Kinda nice to watch them at 'work'.

After some work on the computer then it's time to go to the library, then to the store, and later tonight Mark and I have a Relay meeting. I hope you're enjoying Spring!!
