Bark!!

Mark and I helped out at Bark For Life of Hillsboro today.
I brought along some Luminaria to display.

So many cuties were there!

Loved Amber's pal 'Doug' dressed as a puppy.

Nikki and Rhonda always do such a great job!

Cuties!!

Some of my favorite people!!

Look at this big ole fellow. He was a hit!

Pirates did attend.

Pirate dog!

Mark and I got our 'dog fix' today.

Police dogs are always a hit!!!

We will fight!!

Someone is hoping for a bit of sandwich.........

This dog has a vest with the names of people and animals whose lives have been touched by cancer.

Dean and his buddy.

Mom, I Relay for you.

Here's my Luminaria for my Mom.
I couldn't find the one I made for my Dad, so I put out a card I'd made with a picture of him out for the display, and I guess I'd better get cracking and make a new one.
I Relay for you Dad.

How could you not love this dog?
He does commercials. Surprised? I'm not!

I got Lire's BFL handkerchief and promptly put it on her when we got home.
She wore it for a while......
The weather was perfect, the dogs and people who attended had fun, and we raised money to fight cancer. It was a great day!!!

Thursday I began the day working on making more Love Rocks, using one of Mom's Relay Survivor shirts. Lire was very interested and wanted to be in the thick of things.

I worked on making cards.
I so love doing that.
Keeps me away from baking (trying to get away from having sugar as much as possible, so trying to curtail baking and card making helps big time!)

Mark and I left later that afternoon to go out for dinner and then to the Relay meeting. We first stopped by Mark's work so he could pick up something. I took a walk.

Flashback Friday. This church is close to Mark's work. When Cari was 4 I took her to a wedding of a friend. As the ceremony began two young girls walked up the aisle and began to light the candles. As they finished I heard someone singing, loud and clear, "Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you!" Everyone around us giggled. I shoosed her and the ceremony continued. A woman sang a lovely song... and apparently Cari really enjoyed it as she gave the woman a standing ovation! I told her you don't clap at the end of a song at a wedding (but who knows, maybe this is an idea whose time has come?) and shortly after this she basically fell asleep during the rest of the wedding. The bride got a real kick out of this when she found out and told me she was sorry she missed it!

Walking back to Mark's work.

I love the  country side here near Mark's work.
Love Oregon!!

Love Rocks

A local couple lost their two beautiful daughters in a terrible hit and run.
The parents have shown such love and compassion: they are truly an inspiration.
Their mother has begun an effort to show love by leaving rocks with hearts on them for folks to find, or to give them to someone to show them you care.
I have a couple of Mom's Relay Survivor shirts and I didn't know what to do with them.
Now I know.
I'm making enough rocks to give every Survivor at our Relay one. A little gift from me and Mom.
I have the first one I made set aside for Dad, and the next ones are there for Linda, John, and Tom.
Then Mom V and Mary Jo.

Love wins every time.

Let's go Blazers!!

Mark got some free tickets to a suite at the Blazers game Monday.
It was a beautiful day and we were excited!

Thank goodness I heard that the parking lots were already sold out:
we got there early and found on the street parking. Perfect spot.
So far so good. On to 'Rip City'!

Lots of stuff was going on. This band was really good.

Rip City!!!!!!!!!

Free face painting.
How can you pass that up?

Gal on stilts.

They were giving everyone shirts, waiting for them on the seats.
I love how they spelled out Rip City!

Such wonderful food in the suite.
Including chocolate covered strawberries (excellent!!!!) and fun sugar cookies.

The second man from the left in the front row is Paul Allen,
and the fourth man over is Pete Carroll.
Coolness.

Some performers from Cirque du Soleil performed during half time.
Amazing. Simply amazing.

I had to laugh. When we got home some of the NBA commentators were doing a take off on this performance. It was pretty funny!!

So happy the Blazers won. It was a great night and we were very grateful to be able to be there.
Let's Go Blazers!!!!
