P.F. Chang's, you rock!

Today we had a Relay For Life fundraiser with P.F. Chang's.
When I got there Anne was dolling up the big ole horses out front.
She did an amazing job!

Amber, Dana, Anne, and I manned the table out front.

Viv and Charlie did some fishing.
It was perfect weather for fishing!

I got a kick out of this picture!
She didn't want to pose at all: she just wanted to eat her sucker.
And don't you love the dress her Aunt made her from Relay shirts???

Loved the horses in all their glory.

Especially as it began to get dark.
 \
You know, it sure looks like the horse is laughing at me here.....
just saying......

All good things must come to an end.

"Ya'all come back now, ya hear?"

Garage sales...gotta love em....yeah......

Last Friday and Saturday our team, the Intel Originals, had our fundraising garage sale.
I'm not big on them, but I went and helped out.  Got a kick out of this truck!

I talked to the owner and he has four older cars and loves them all to death.
He's now about to start working on this truck. I would love to see it when he's done!

We raised around 600 dollars on Friday.  Wow.  I don't like doing garage sales, but they do come up with lots of money.  I haven't heard what we raised yesterday......

Saturday we had rain off and on in the morning.
Oh joy.

But even though I don't like garage sales, I always love hanging out with Rhonda's dog.
He's one of the sweetest dogs around.  Look at that face.
(by the way, I'm making a sandwich and he's hoping for a nibble....that's my big appeal here)

Starlight Parade 2013

It's Rose Festival time again and this year I took Mark to go and be in the Starlight Parade with me.

We checked out cars.

Yes, we even checked out the RMH float car.
Okay, so it's not a real car......

Go Portland State.
Go Viks!

The Winterhawks were the Grand Marshalls of the parade.
We didn't get to see any Winterhawks, but we did get to see Tom-A-Hawk and the Rose Buds.
We got a kick out of these young men wanting to have their picture taken with the gals.
Tom-A-Hawk was NOT the main attraction for them.
Go figure.

Okay, so we got into the act.

When we got back to the RMH entry Ronald McDonald was there and right away he LOVED my shoes.
I think we're a team.

Mark hung out with Chad.

I hung out with Ronald.

A good time was had.  Glad to see the House out and about in the community!

Lire in a Box

Mark and I went out and bought him some good walking shoes.
Someone approved of the purchase.

Mark had to check this out for himself.

If you come to the Vander House resident,
and put out an empty box,
the box will be filled with a cat before you know it.
Trust me.

Tom in Portland

Tom came up for a visit.
We went to Portland to eat food and drink beer.

I decided to try something different.
Very different.

I decided to try the Champagne of the North.  It's so tart that they include some fruit syrup with it so you can cut the tartness.
I have to say I liked it without the syrup, and with it.  Different....

See???

We walked off our beer and food.  Tom wanted to go to Portland Market.
We went to Portland Market.

We even had some blue sky.
Loved that!

Much walking was done.
Fun was had.

Walking in Portland

One Sunday morning we met up with friends Janet and Carl and went for a walk in Portland.

Mark got to see a train!  He likes trains...

After much walking we went out for breakfast.
I love the note 'put a fried bird on it!' in the menu.
And it was a great breakfast.

More walking was done.
We found the statue that our ex-mayor did a 'expose yourself to art' poster.

Okay.  I couldn't resist.......

The Shamrock Run

Last month I traveled on down to Portland and took part in the Shamrock Run.  Or in my case 'walk'.

Folks tend to dress up for the event, so I decided my hair from 'Queen's Day' in Amsterdam would fit the bill.  It matched my shirt: very stylish.

Beer.  Always a winner. But the lines were too long, so no beer for me....

I love Portland!

Mark came to pick me up afterwards and we walked through town and got some lunch.  Nice way to spend the day!
