Friday Harbor: a bit of this and that

Here we are on the ferry, almost to Friday Harbor. At this point I can't wait to get there!!

Folks are streaming off the ferry. We have to wait until they're all off. Hurry folks!!

Friday Harbor. Amazing view.

I bought a red poppy from a veteran.

Views are amazing.

Winery outside of Friday Harbor. Used to be a school house.

The winery had a camel on some of the labels of their wine and I wondered why. As we drove out we saw the camel: aha!

Mark and I saw VanderYacht propane everywhere!

Look what I found in the bookstore: penguins!

And a Relay donation jar at the register. When I bought my book of course I donated some dough.

Dancing girls at Intel: never thought you'd hear THAT eh??

They had a fun band, and some scantly clad dancing girls, at the party. Hey, it's a party, right? They were really good, and I could see what the girls were all so thin: they danced and danced and danced!! So much energy: I could use some of that energy at the upcoming Portland to Coast! LOL!

Party down Intel!

Last night was a celebration party for work. WOW. It was at the Portland Hilton, spread between several floors, LOTS of food, and lots of fun. Even ice sculptures! Bom bom bom bom!

And even more ice sculptures!

One of the areas to hang out in was on the 23rd floor, where they have lots of windows and amazing views of Portland. Loving the patio area showing below: would so love to go and have a drink there. Wouldn't that be sweet???

Bands.

And on another floor another band. All the bands we heard were good. This band was singing their version of Prince's (or whatever the heck his name is now) 'When Doves Cry' and I really liked it.

Another view from the lounge in the 23rd floor. Did I mention I love Portland???

Bom bom bom bom! Lots of logos lit up throughout the party areas.

This floor had a bar and karaoke. Great room to hang out in and there were some folks who could sing and some folks.....well.....let's move on folks.

Lots of brightly lit rooms, and lots of glitz.

See?

And a fun photo booth. We are so cute. Mark and I always seem to have a lot of fun at Intel parties, and we loved hanging out with friends. And Mark ran into one of the gals he deals with at Beaverton Foods: she's his UPS rep! That was a kick.

Intel, thanks for a fun time. Can't wait til the next one!

Wow!

I am so proud: Cari has her art on a billboard in Portland! Wow!

We haven't taken ourselves on out to Portland to view it in person, and I can't wait to do so. It looks great: ah, the places Cari will go. I love when someone explores who they are and celebrates it. And especially when it's my child!!

Portland LOVES Ronald!

Caleb and I got the great luck to be in the Starlight Parade last night in Portland (and the wonderful weather was an added bonus!). We rode in the Ronald McDonald House float, built by the amazing folks at Parr Lumber. And let me just say everyone was as nice as could be, and I'm SO GLAD the lumber for our new house came from there. I would never go anywhere else.

Below are some pictures I think the folks at the House would like to see: I plan on loading more, with more of Caleb's adventures in Portland, but these are so the folks at the House can see them until I give Chad a CD of all the pictures I took that I think they'll want (there are more than below). Chad, thanks for letting me give Caleb a 10th birthday to remember. We had so much fun we can hardly stand it, and it was an event I so glad we didn't miss.

And let me just say that you can't even imagine the excitement that folks, young and old, showed when Ronald showed up in the parade. I knew that Ronald was popular, but to see it in person from his perspective was a true learning experience.

He got several 'I love you Ronalds', many requests for cheeseburgers, and a marriage proposal. What a guy!
